I have known Samantha for awhile.  She has the kindest soul and is really a gifted model.  I recently started working with a lingerie boutique and acquired some new lingerie for my studio.  I needed a model and was pumped when Samantha said she would do it.  Working with her is like a breath of fresh air. The two most important parts of shooting boudoir are how a women feels when she is done shooting and then when she sees her images.  I am always grateful when client’s allow me to share their stories.  Here is Samantha’s experience in her own words.

Tell me your story- Why did you do your boudoir shoot?    “Boudoir was not a photography style I have modeled for before (while I have had shots taken in undergarments). I was bullied through much of my life which resulted in a very low level of self confidence and the inability to express myself. Life took its course and eventually I was able to dispose of my negative image and feel comfortable in my own skin. These shots are a reflection of my change of mind and self acceptance, I love who I am and would never change anything that has occurred in my life”

Why Shoot with Jenn?    “I’ve shot with Jennifer before and it is not just her photography skill that I love but her personality. Doing shoots with photographers that seem to have a facade is a bit frustrating”

What was the best part of your experience? “I loved moving outside of my comfort zone as a model and portraying a bit more of a darker and sensual side of myself. I loved the pieces I brought as well as the light blue garment Jenn provided, my only problem was (as usual) fit and size! Everything was a bit large but stunning nonetheless”

What would you say to anyone that’s thinking about booking a shoot but their nerves are keeping them from making the call?  “The whole purpose of a shoot that is of this caliber is to feel like you’re taking a risk, to feel that uneasy feeling. You should not feel ashamed to be who you are and expose what you have, the fear turns to energy and when the photography comes out you see your own beauty.  I would of course recommend Jenn for a shoot! In general for all family/personal photography I think LaBella Vita (Jenn’s family brand- you can check out that work HERE)  is exceptional.  Jenn and her work are an intoxicatingly ideal place to turn for a shoot.”

Final thoughts? “I have never felt beautiful and sexy (despite the numerous times I have been told the opposite about myself)… seeing these photos actually made me cry because it was one of the few times in my life where I could look at myself and not be ashamed and not see every tiny little flaw. It seems stereotypical to say and I am sure everyone who fills this form out writes something along those lines but I need to say it and I also want to say, thank you Jenn for the new perspective, no matter how fleeting the feeling was”
